You've always belonged — to more than one story.

The Ties Foundation walks alongside intercountry adoptees, their families, and their communities. With funding, resources, and a community that gets it.

You are not alone. You never were.

The Welcome

You didn't choose the beginning of your story. But you get to choose what you do with it.

If you're an intercountry adoptee — whether you're thriving, struggling, searching, or somewhere in the complicated middle — you belong here. If you love one, you belong here too.

For too long, the adoption world focused on the transaction: the paperwork, the placement, the arrival. But adoption isn't a childhood event. It's a lifelong journey of identity, belonging, and becoming. And for most of that journey, you've been handed very little support.

That ends here.

What We Offer

Grants: Real money for real needs — homeland travel, therapy, and heritage connection. Because your healing shouldn't depend on your bank account.

Decoding:The research, policy, and data that affects your life is out there — buried in places nobody has time to dig. We translate it into plain language, written for you.

Community: You are not navigating this alone. We're a community of fellow travelers — people who understand because they've lived it.

The Human Behind It

Our CEO, Ian Anand Forber-Pratt, is an international intercountry adoptee, adopted from India to the United States. He has spent 25 years working in child welfare systems across the globe — and every year, his own adoption story has shaped the work.
